It is against the law in most places to make or receive calls while driving. The reports we see are NOT quite cheering. A lot of folks have lost their lives just because they were distracted for a split second.
Most people are very careful NOT to make or receive calls wherever they think they might be caught by a camera or officer. However, if they find themselves on the highway, they’d take and make all the calls they want. Even though you might NOT be made to pay fines for these since NO one caught you, you might condemn yourself to the supreme price — Death!
So even though eating, making calls and engaging in other distracting acts while driving will eventually rule you out completely from cheap car insurance for young drivers, I don’t think that should be your main motivation. Consider the people whose lives depend on you, the driver. Consider the loved ones who’d have to grief if anything goes wrong and you’ll see that it’s a very small price to pay.
